Do you ever get tired of advertising? We don’t. But some of the most effective marketing tactics still irritate us. Yes, sometimes you’ll see one of these cliches come out of Barker & Christol, but always remember, we don’t do anything without a plan and a reason.  So we gladly present, 11 Marketing Pet Peeves:

Come on. Really. I save a penny!?!?!?!

2. But wait, there’s more!

Of course there’s more. We live in a society of more More MORE!

3. “Buy one and we’ll send you a second one for free!”

In other words, you’ve doubled the price of one to lie to me about it’s value. If pricing sets value, how much is your product worth? 9.99 or free? I’m bettin’ on the latter.

4. Web forms that make you sign up for something before you get their amazing free download.

5. Period. After. Every. Word.

Enough. Said.

6. Email blasts that go out Every Day.

Come on. Every. Single. Day.? (Oh, wait)

7. “Putting quotation marks around your tagline.”

Quotation marks are for something quoted. Who really said “The Best in the Business”?

8. Number 1 it it’s class!

And how many classes are there, huh? And how many in each class?

9. “Lifetime” warranty
